Ratatouille is a delightful movie that entertains the whole family. I’ve seen it a dozen times and I never seem to get tired of it. Ratatouille is also the kind of movie where you can discover something different every time you watch it. They are the creative works of Disney and Pixar, who are the leaders in children’s movies and animation.

If you’re looking for a great summer movie for your kids or for that weekly family night out, here are 5 reasons to check out Ratatouille.

1. Ratatouille has a great plot that centers on a young rat (Remy) who wants to cook. He is influenced by a great chef from Paris who says that anyone can cook. Remy experiments with different herbs and spices to make little creations, but is constantly reminded by his family that he is just a rat and that rats don’t cook.

2. There is a cast of great characters that help make Ratatouille a great movie. When Remy is separated from his family, he ends up in the city of Paris in front of the French chef’s restaurant. He befriends Linguini, a desire to be a chef who just doesn’t have any talents. Throughout the movie, Remy helps Linguini secretly cook extraordinary meals from some of the best chefs. I enjoyed all the characters, such as the food critic, the shady chef, the female chef, and Remy’s family. They are all notable characters.

3. The third reason to watch Ratatouille is to learn to cook. The movie provides an introduction to what herbs and spices should be added to different foods. I never used Saffron before watching this movie, but now I have become interested in using some of these strange spices in traditional foods.

4. Ratatouille has a lot of action and special effects. Kids will love the explosive start when the old lady shoots all over the house in mad rage. And the high-speed chase from the streets of Paris to the riverboat will keep everyone in their seats.

5. Lastly, create a Family Night with your children. Ratatouille is a delicacy that you will want to enjoy again and again. So grab a big bowl of buttered popcorn and share in the moment.
