Everything you need to know about RCC, HCC and DTC

Introduction

Cancer, a deadly disease, is a condition in which cells in any part of the body begin to grow out of control. Cells divide and grow further to spread to other parts of the body. In a healthy body, old or damaged cells die while other cells divide and form new cells. Cancer disrupts this process; new cells are formed when they are not required. These new cells divide and divide, forming tumors. Cancer, like leukemias, develops solid tumors, whereas blood cancer does not form a tumor.

The initial symptoms of cancer are:

  • Indigestion

  • Variation in bladder / bowel behavior

  • Exaggerated bleeding or discharge

  • Lumps in the chest or elsewhere

  • Cough or heartburn, etc.

Advanced renal cell carcinoma (CRC)

Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) or kidney cancer is one of the common types of kidney cancer. Kidney cancer usually begins with a single tumor in the kidney or two tumors, each in both kidneys. The kidney is the bean-shaped part of the body, which is responsible for purifying the blood. The kidneys remove excess salts, water, and other chemical wastes from the blood and expel them from the body through urine. Since every drop of blood enters the kidneys, it is easy for cancer cells to spread to the kidneys. The survival rate of CRC is greater than 70% for at least five years. CRC can be cured with surgery or transplantation.

Unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC)

Hepatocellular carcinoma is chronic, the third leading cause of death worldwide. Liver cancer is different from other cancers because of how it works. In addition to severity, this type of cancer forms solid tumors. Liver cancers occur mainly in men than in women. Other diseases such as hepatitis B or hepatitis C and hemochromatosis cause liver tumors. Other reasons, such as excess alcohol and chronic inflammation of the liver, cause CRC. CRC is diagnosed by various blood tests, imaging tests, that is, CT scan and MRI, and a liver biopsy. Although liver cancer is essential for cure, specialists try to make it less painful through surgery and liver transplants.

Differentiated thyroid carcinoma (DTC)

The thyroid is a butterfly-shaped gland located in the lower neck below the larynx. The thyroid controls the body’s endocrine system that controls hormones in the body. There are five types of thyroid cancers. Thyroid cancer usually begins with an overgrowth of cells in the thyroid gland and then spreads to other parts. Although thyroid cancer is a common type of cancer, the reason behind the cause is unknown. Women and people with high radiation exposure tend to be at risk for thyroid cancer.
