Finding Nearby Breweries That Offer Something More

I’ll take a chance and realize that some of you are fans of good beer. If you’re like me, you’ve probably said the words, “I wonder if there are good breweries near me.” On the other hand, you may quickly have a chance to forget that notion simply because you couldn’t imagine the idea of ​​visiting a brewery at all.

How things have changed, my friend! Today’s breweries have changed in such a way that smaller players are brewing beer on a smaller scale and take pride in bringing back the old ways of making stellar beer. Furthermore, these same breweries are realizing that caring only about beer means attracting only a smaller section of the population.

Breweries are now joint ventures with restaurants and movie theaters, a far cry from the large industrial facilities we tend to think of when we envision a brewery.

The thing is, though, I still wish these modern new breweries would offer more that makes them stand out a bit more. Sure, I know that makes me sound like a bit of contempt, but as a consumer, I want as many options as possible.

First things first, if I am looking for a brewery that offers something extra, the first thing I have to do is define what ‘extra’ means to me. This can be a bit tricky because I have to figure out what things I would like to get from a brewery. Do I want a few beers to choose from or do I want a meaningful list of options? Am I more interested in a “diving” type atmosphere or do I want to have a more formal setting? These seem like pretty basic questions, but if you’re looking for the right brewery to visit, you need to dig deeper.

Next, I’m not sure if this is the case for you, but when I have a nice cold beer, I like something to snack on. If breweries are now striving to attract a larger audience with food options, I need to know how important food is to me when I find the right brewery. Do I want beer nuts and pretzels? Am I open to gimmicky meals? On the other hand, I would like to believe that I hope to spend a night on the town with my wife and children. I love them and they love me, but you can’t support a family on bar snacks. Being able to have quality ingredients and fresh food prepared on site is very important to me and it can be to you too.

Come to think of it, when it comes to making a brewery visit a family affair, you really need to know what would appeal to those closest to you. What do they like? What attracts them? Is it the family atmosphere with on-site activities that suit both younger customers and parents? These are somewhat difficult questions, but necessary.

So are there breweries near me that offer something unique? Absolutely. But as with any consumer decision, I need to know what attracts me and my family to help discover that little “extra” something that will make us feel at home.
