How to work with AirPrint in Windows? tips and tricks

The emergence of wireless technology has become fashionable. This has been so because in addition to being convenient, it is also exciting. Who wouldn’t be delighted when you can surf the net anywhere in the world and now you can print your files without even connecting your computer to the printer with the use of annoying cables, or repeatedly installing and configuring printer drivers on your computer?

If we enjoy the power of wireless web browsing, today there are many reasons to be happy, as wireless printing has come to life. And when we talk about wireless printing today, it only means one thing: AirPrint. AirPrint is a service that allows you to print documents, emails, web content, and photos wirelessly over a Wi-Fi connection. You can do this by sending your files directly to printers, since you’re on the same Wi-Fi connection, to do your printing work. Although AirPrint only works with Apple iOS devices and some HP printers, the rant among Windows users has been silenced today. Now Windows users (Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP) can enjoy it too.

But how does this work on Windows? Here are some tips that you may find useful to enable AirPrint service in Windows.

Before you can set it up on Windows, a few requirements must first be met. iTunes 10.1, which can be downloaded directly from Apple, must be installed on your computer. Network printer sharing must be enabled on your computer. And make sure you have full administrative privileges to enable/disable services on your computer. And remember that Airprint wireless printing is only possible if you are within the same Wi-Fi connection, i.e. your device and the printer used.

When you have completed all the requirements, you can now install the AirPrint extension on your PC. There are a few different installers that you can find on the web today. There is a simple AirPrint.zip from Javox. There is the Elpamsoft AirPrint installer and others. Once an AirPrint installer is downloaded and the file is extracted, run the .exe file. And the installation is ready to go. In case a Firewall is running on your computer, configure AirPrint for Windows to allow access. After setup is complete, try to print a document (assuming both devices are under the same Wi-Fi connection).

Although the process of setting up AirPrint on your PC differs depending on your installer, setting it up is not a problem as most installers come with simple instructions. And while it used to be very difficult to find tips on how to use this service in Windows online, now you can type AirPrint in Windows into your browser and have complete control over wireless printing.
