Is React Killing angular?

Unlike humans, technologies lack the ability to fight and kill each other. But the emergence of new technologies often affects the popularity and market share of conventional technologies. Both React and Angular are widely used by web programmers around the world.

Several polls have highlighted a steady increase in React’s popularity, along with a gradual decline in Angular usage. Angular is an open source JavaScript web application framework supported by Google. Provides features to simplify single page web application development and testing.

On the other hand, React is an open source JavaScript library backed by a large community that includes both individual and corporate developers like Facebook and Instagram. It comes with features to simplify user interface development for single page and data driven web applications.

Many programmers prefer to leverage React and Angular together to improve application performance and functionality. However, each user still needs to understand the differences between React and Angular to choose the right technology.

Important differences between Angular and React

Maturity: Angular was released in 2009, while React was released in 2013. Since 2009, Angular has been regularly updated to compete with other modern web application frameworks. React was originally designed as a component for Facebook. It has been regularly updated to accelerate the development of data-driven and dynamic web applications.

Design goal: Angular was designed with features to aid single page application development. The framework makes it easy for developers to upload new content without leaving the web page. On the other hand, React was designed with features to simplify user interface development for single page applications. Helps programmers build great applications that access and manage dynamic data.

Link and data flow: Angular-compatible bi-directional data binding makes it easy for programmers to make changes to the model automatically from any direction. But it requires programmers to additionally write and organize standard code. On the other hand, React implements a one-way reactive data flow that makes it easy for programmers to manage the Document Object Model (DOM) without handling any boilerplate code. Data flow also helps them build applications that can handle a large amount of data efficiently.

Packing code: Most developers want to implement and execute their code in a custom way. The custom package allows them to reduce the loading speed of the website by loading the minimum first. Angular does not provide any specific features to customize the packaging of your code. React does not require users to package application components in any specific sequence. As it is a JavaScript development library, you can load multiple code snippets dynamically. Also, it allows users to work with other solutions like webpack.

Depuration: Angular is designed as an event driven framework. It allows developers to write code quickly and easily. But users need to go the extra mile to debug the code. The framework further required the developers to rewrite the code in case the Angular directives don’t work. At the same time, React makes it easier for programmers to debug code by keeping programmer-written code separate from programmer-generated code. The separation makes it easy for users to detect errors and problems in stack traces.

Performance control: When developing a website, developers explore ways to customize and optimize its performance. Angular requires developers to count scopes to monitor application performance. On the other hand, React users modify the performance of the application simply by creating custom functions. They can even create additional DOMs to improve the performance of applications with complex models.

Use: Angular and React to achieve different tasks and goals. They can use Angular to improve the quality of the application without spending extra time and effort. On the other hand, React helps them build applications that deliver dynamic content or perform big data operations frequently. Programmers also have the option of using Reach and Angular together to improve the performance of various web applications. However, they need to handle both tools efficiently to avoid complexity within the application.

React can be used as a JavaScript library, while Angular is a web application framework. On their respective Github pages, Angular has more stars than React. Angular currently has over 40,000 stars on Github, while React has over 30,000 stars.

The figure indicates that Angular is still popular and relevant as a modern web framework. It is always important that programmers choose Angular or React according to the specific needs of their project, regardless of its popularity and market share.
