The difference between CCNA and CCIE training

CCNA Training

CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) is a popular computer networking certification that was developed by Cisco Systems. It is a popular and highly sought after IT certification that can help you land your first networking job or advance your career if you currently work in Information Technology (IT).

Cisco designed the CCNA to recognize core competency in installing and supporting midsize networks. It covers the basics of networking and you have a number of options to specialize during such training. These include R&S (routing and switching), security, and voice.

CCIE Training

On the other hand, CCIE training is the most advanced version of network training. It was introduced in 1993 to help individuals, businesses, and industries succeed in the networking world by honoring the highest echelon of networking experts. Now, it is considered as the best option for a networking professional who wants to expand his career.

Like CCNA, similar track options are also available to the networking professional in CCIE training. But the difference is that this training is more evolved and is carried out at a higher level. It is deeper and even comprehensive compared to CCNA training. In other words, the CCIE training is like a PhD in networking.

Regarding compensation, the pay package that the networking professional can claim after successfully completing the CCIE training is quite higher than the one who completed the CCNA training. Also, the course duration in this training is longer as compared to the CCNA training. However, you have the option to go directly to the CCIE training or start with the CCNA training and then finally move on to the CCIE training.
