Things to consider before a brand design agency designs your company logo

Remember in childhood we used to play at identifying company name or company trademarks just by looking at their logos? It was really a fun game because many times we used to say the name of big companies instantly just by looking at their logos, unlike some logos that seemed non-existent before. Well, this is the strategy behind creating a brand logo!

If a logo is strategically designed and marketed, it can have the strength to multiply a customer’s purchasing power. Take a look at some of the more iconic logos like Nike, Apple, Louis Vuitton, and other giant company logos. They do not like the intense advertising of their products, but the sales are higher. This is because most of the sales are due to their logos. Let’s talk about some of the things to consider before designing your company logo:

  • Logo type matters
You would have noticed that most companies use single color logos, while some use letters to make their logo. Let’s take a look at the different types of logos:

  • Word marks
These logos are usually stand-alone words that do not need decoration. They are independent since they are manufactured with a single color, structure and size. Examples: CNN, Facebook, IBM, etc.

  • Letter format
Letter-shaped logos are similar to word marks rather than the fact that they are made with ascenders and descendants. Also, there is a difference in the height of uppercase and lowercase letters. Examples: HP, Godrej, DC, etc.

  • Abstract
When a logo is not related to the brand, the slogan or the background, it is called abstract. These logos are just graphic textures or images.

  • Pictorial
Some of the companies like Twitter and Starbucks have used logos wisely and are doing very well in their fields. When any image represents the brand that resembles metaphorical objects, those are Pictoral logos.

  • Color of a logo
There is a scientific angle when it comes to choosing your logo color. You would have seen different colored logos of big name companies. Each color has a psychological impact on the human brain that makes it attractive. For example, the color yellow represents freshness, energetic and happy so it can be used for health services. The color red represents boldness, youth and high intensity, which pairs well with products like Red-Bull or Pepsi.

  • Logo font
Like the color of a logo, font selection is equally important as it has an impact on people’s mindsets. With this in mind, you should choose your logo font wisely. For example, if you are running a legal or IT business, your logo should consist of strong, strong, and bold fonts. On the other hand, if you own a chocolate manufacturing business, choosing an elegant, cursive font will be more beneficial, as it will represent childishness and mischief in your product.

By now you know how design, color, font, and even typography can affect your business. So, hire a first-class brand design agency to create the right logo for your company.
