Arowana Introduction and Information

Arowana fish have been known for many years. They are the king of tropical fish. Asian tropical fish are highly appreciated and coveted by all fans, so the market price is stable and tends to increase over time. Why is this so? Because arowanas are hard to breed and a breeder can only produce 30-60 fish and not all breeders will produce eggs. So there is a tendency for the demand to be greater than the supply. Furthermore, the natural environment that is required to breed arowanans only exists in a few Asian countries, mainly Indonesia.

Is arowana still in its natural habitat? It’s hard to answer. If they still exist, we may not see them, due to their scarcity. Currently, arowanas can only be seen on breeding farms, some farms have produced up to F5 to prevent their extinction.

Arowana super red is native to Lake Sentarum. This lake flows into the kapuas river located in western Borneo. There are many arowana farms, from small to large. The super red arowana is the most difficult to breed outside of the wild. Golden Mahato arowana was originally from the Siak River in Pekanbaru. It has golden colored scales and at first glance it is similar to Cross Back Golden Malaysia. These two are the trademark of Indonesian arowana, which are highly sought after by all arowana fans in Indonesia and around the world.

Some Indonesian arowanas include super red, red tail golden, golden mahato, banjar red, and green arowana. The tropical climate of Indonesia is very suitable for arowana breeding. water is the most critical element in arowana breeding, water source is not a problem in indonesia.
