Infertility Cure: Why Infertility Drugs Prevent Pregnancy

While searching for an infertility cure, it is inevitable that your doctor will prescribe infertility medication that you should take. Due to our almost sacred perception of doctors, we take them hoping that these are the magic pills that will allow us to finally get pregnant.

There are alternatives to infertility drugs that work even better and are much safer to take. They are known to work for women age 30 and older, women who have had abortions, been on long-term birth control, and have had miscarriages.

The danger of fertility drugs is that they have a negative effect on the ovaries and have been linked to ovarian cancer, which ultimately prevents pregnancy. These are the 3 most common fertility drugs and their effects.

Bromocriptine:

This medication is meant to lower prolactin levels to normal and also allows the ovary to return to normal. It is clearly stated in this medication insert that it is not a cure for the problem of infertility. So why take it? Dizziness and nausea are the most common side effects of this medication. Although long-term use of this drug will cause other immune problems that may compromise the quality of the pregnancy if you are even able to get pregnant.

Danazol:

This is a synthetic hormone. It is widely used to treat ovarian problems that can prevent pregnancy. However, the side effects of this drug completely contradict what it is supposed to do. Side effects of danazol include hot flashes, weight gain, acne, hirsutism, and pseudomenopause, which completely stops menstruation.

Gonadotropins:

The 2 gonadotropin hormones, follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH), are produced in the pituitary glands, and secretion is controlled by a third hormone, gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH). FSH and LH stimulate the ovary and cause follicles to develop. When it is time for ovulation, the pituitary gland releases LH, which causes the egg to be released from the mature follicle in the ovary.

Although this treatment has been considered the most potent, it also carries the greatest risk. Side effects include overstimulation of the ovary, as well as ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS), which causes an enlarged ovary and a buildup of fluid in the abdomen. Although, the most serious complications of OHSS are the possibility of tumors and ovarian cancer.

Due to the severe side effects caused by these drugs, they end up preventing the body from allowing a pregnancy to occur. By introducing toxins into the body to repair hormonal or ovarian problems, it prevents the body from naturally strengthening these problem areas, and by doing so, prevents pregnancy.

These are just some of the drugs that are claimed to cure infertility. I went through my share of drugs in my battle to get pregnant, and the only benefit I got from them was depression and a much lighter bank account. There are other, natural alternatives that do not cause side effects and allow your body to repair itself for a natural pregnancy.
