Subway tiles merge the traditional and contemporary worlds

They became fashionable at the beginning of the 20th century, and yet they are still very popular. Simplicity is better with the subway tile design which today comes in larger sizes compared to the original 3X6. Subway tiles fit so conveniently anywhere in the home or office! They can also be installed in the kitchen and bathroom, in the laundry room and in the hall. Subway tiles started out as porcelains and ceramics that were durable enough and required little maintenance. Today glass subway tiles along with stone and metal and blends add to the wide range available.

Commercial establishments and residences would also be attracted to glass for its light and shine. An immense variety of colors and patterns make glass subway tile a great choice for decorating walls. Simple decorations go a long way in creating the appeal that leaves everyone spellbound. The reflective power of glass and the depths of dimensions achieved are truly fascinating. With so much attention given to protecting the environment, why not build green houses? Ecological recycled glass brings all the advantages and also serves in busy areas such as the kitchen.

Natural stone subway patterns are also intensely attractive. They are highly durable and available in various stylish shades. Perhaps glass subway tile and natural stone subway tile could be mixed and matched for maximum impact. Classic stone and shimmering glass would work well together to create a fairy tale effect.

Those who like whites would love Carrara Subterraneans, Whisper White and Antique White. Arctic Ice is fabulous too. Dove Grey, Caramel and Cinnamon feature darker shades, all with that radiant effect.

Mosaics really steal the show in a fantasy of rich color combinations. Glacier Peak, Ayres Blend, and Desert Mirage feature subterranean mosaics that combine white, brown, and black. Add a classic touch to the walls with that spectacular wow factor. The individual shades couldn’t match the powerful impact of the multicolored mosaics.

One would not expect to install glass mosaics on all four walls. Perhaps accent walls or particular corners would showcase the subway’s remarkable glass mosaics. The ability to mix or contrast materials and colors would help through a visualizer. The total effect matters and that includes furniture, rugs and rugs, lighting fixtures and electronic equipment. Judicious combination of various colors and materials would create an intimate effect. Discuss, exchange notes and reach a consensus.

The combination of ceramic and glass tiles complement each other and create a magical collage of colors and patterns, underground or otherwise.
