The best of social media apps

The growth of smartphones in recent years has been phenomenal. Almost everyone now uses a smartphone; If you are reading this article, it is very possible that you are reading it from your Smartphone. Almost all sectors have been influenced by this growth. Social media has been one of those sectors where smartphones have made a big difference in its growth. The rate of growth has been fundamental. Everyone is socially connected 24/7 thanks to these smart devices. You don’t need to sit at your laptop or desktop computer after coming home from work and log into a social network to connect with multiple people.

Here are some social media apps that have changed or influenced the lives of millions of people around the world in one way or another:

WhatsApp message:

You don’t pay $19 billion to acquire any other company, and Whatsapp is certainly not just “any other company”. Facebook recently paid 19 majors to acquire this messaging service. Whatsapp is a cross-platform messenger that works on almost all smartphone operating systems. Along with messages you can send images, audio, video and GPS locations in a really easy and effective way. And all this totally free (Except the initial download cost on iOS).

How Life Changed: Before we go out, we all send a “Selfie” to our best friends to get the final verdict on how we look. But don’t we?

Wine:

Next up is Vine. This is a video sharing app that allows users to make short/mini videos and share them in a feed very similar to other social networks. It has become very popular among many production companies and advertising agencies for the release of teasers and trailers. It is also used for commercial products.

How this changed my life: It changed the whole perspective on how we watch videos! You can spend hours watching a 6 second video, weird right?

Instagram:

Let me elaborate a bit on the word “Selfie” that I used in the previous section. It was named the Oxford Dictionary word of the year. That pretty much sums up the impact social media and photography have on the world. Instagram has been a leading factor for the promotion of the word “Selfie”. It’s a social image sharing network that’s simple, fast, and pretty fun to be honest. It has features like any other social network; the images you share go to a feed, you can follow others and be followed. There are even some preloaded filters to apply to your images before you share them. Sharing between networks (Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, etc.) is also available.

How this changed life: SELFIE.

Facebook:

Facebook has the largest number of users to date and is the largest social network in the world. How can a social media countdown be complete without Facebook? Everyone who is online or uses the Internet is on Facebook. The mobile app has all the features that the original website has, and it’s even better for some features. With the app, while sitting in a coffee shop, you can upload a picture of your coffee, add the location, give feedback, and tag friends who came with you. You have truly completed the social media application.

How Life Changed: Before we click on an image, we think about whether we want it to be a Facebook DP or not. Sadistic? Maybe!
