The New York Jets’ defense is one of the best in the NFL.

Any New York Jets fan must be feeling great about their team right now. The Jets look like a whole new team after Mangini, and their 2-0 start has New York City excited about the new and improved New York Jets.

The Jets looked great during the first week of football, with a big win in Houston over the Texans. Entering Week 2, the Patriots were a heavy favorite vs. New York and were expected to beat the Jets, as they normally do in New York. Tom Brady had beaten the Bills the week before, and with an effective drive in the final two minutes of the game, he led the Patriots to victory.

The New York Jets were ready to show New England that a new team was in the building. The defense absolutely shuts down the Patriots’ offense. Tom Brady had his first game without a TD in nearly four years and lost his first game during the regular season since the 2006 season finale.

Personally, I’ve never seen a Jets defensive unit that looked this good. I know Rex Ryan gets all the credit in Baltimore for what he did with the Ravens’ defense, but I never fully believed it. Now I’m starting to see that he’s for real, just like rookie QB Mark Sanchez.

For the first time in several seasons, I am very excited to be a fan of the Jets. This is one of those seasons that could bring us a solid playoff run.
