Sony Ericsson’s XPERIA line has been known for creating compact smartphones like the X10 Mini. However, compared to the most recent phone releases, this compact Android phone is simply outclassed. Now, said smartphone gets an update with the new Mini.

Hardware

Every piece of hardware that comes with the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Mini is an upgraded version of its predecessor. Its predecessor came with a 2.55-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen, offering a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. The Mini comes with a 3.0-inch touch screen that offers a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. Also, the new smartphone comes with Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine. This allows users to enjoy the same technology used in Sony’s big screen HDTVs.

These days, users are attracted to dual core processors in modern smartphones. Although the Mini does not come with a dual-core processor, it does come with a mobile phone processor that has a higher frequency compared to its predecessor.

The above Mini cam with a 600 MHz ARM 11 processor, Qualcomm MSM7227 chipset with an integrated Adreno 200 GPU. In the past, this was considered one of the fastest. However, today’s standards place this processor at the bottom of the totem pole. The Sony Ericsson XPERIA Mini may not come with a dual-core processor, but it still comes with a processor that is up to today’s standards. It comes with a 1GHz Qualcomm QSD8255 Snapdragon Scorpion processor with an integrated Adreno 205 GPU. This means more performance and better graphics. Also, it comes with 512 MB of RAM which adds to the performance of the phone.

Software

The X10 Mini comes pre-installed with the Android operating system version 1.6 Donut. This earlier version can now be upgraded to version 2.1 Lightning of the Android operating system. However, there are now 2 more up-to-date versions than the Éclair. On the other hand, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Mini comes pre-installed with the most advanced operating system offered by Android from Google. It comes pre-installed with the most advanced Android operating system version 2.3 Gingerbread.

This version of Android comes with a number of advantages. In addition to efficient power management, it is highly reliable. One of the advantages it has over the competition is web loyalty. It comes with Flash support. This allows users to visit any website found on the Internet. Also, XPERIA phones like Play, Arc and Neo have received the 2.3.3 update. This allows users to enjoy more of the main social network Facebook. The Sony Ericsson XPERIA Mini will surely come with this update once it is released.

With these updates, users are sure to enjoy this compact smartphone.
