Xbox 360 E73 Fix – Fixing the E73 error is easier than you think!

You can’t believe it! Your Xbox 360 was working fine yesterday, but now when you turn it on, an E73 error message appears on the screen, as well as a flashing red light on the bottom right of the power button. Why the heck has this happened? Has your game come to an end?

Even though the Xbox 360 is a seventh-generation gaming console, it’s not without its problems. In fact, there are many things that can go wrong with the Xbox 360, and when they do they often return an error like E73, and certain sections of the ring around the power button will also flash depending on the problem.

The E73 error is a general hardware failure that can be caused by a dodgy Ethernet port, among others. However, there are a few things you can try that may fix the problem.

Restart your console and see if you still get the error code, if you do then turn it off, unplug the power cord from the wall outlet as well as all AV cables, then plug them back in. If the error persists after plugging the cables back in, turn off the console, remove the hard drive, and turn it back on.

If the above steps don’t resolve the issue, your Xbox 360 will need to be repaired. Now you have 2 options here.

1. Let Microsoft fix it!

If your Xbox 360 is still under warranty, perhaps the best option is to send it to Microsoft for repair. Microsoft will fix the E73 error, as well as any other errors, including the red ring of death, and it won’t cost you a dime. Microsoft extended the 3-year warranty at great cost to themselves to cover these issues, giving you peace of mind, if your warranty is still on!

The downside is that you’ll have to wait several weeks to get your console back, and it seems most Xbox 360 gamers aren’t prepared to wait that long, nor should they. If you find it hard to go a few days without playing on your Xbox 360, waiting several weeks is probably more than you can bear!

2. Repair it yourself!

If you just can’t stand the thought of not being able to play any games for weeks at a time or if your warranty has expired, in which case you’d have to pay Microsoft $140 or so to repair your console, then this may well be the best option for you. Especially since it’s now quite easy to do your own repairs on the Xbox 360.

There are professional repair guides you can buy online that teach you how to fix all kinds of problems with your Xbox 360, including the E73 error. These guides are very easy to use as they include demo videos that show you exactly what to do step by step. You don’t need any technical knowledge to use these guides and the best ones are only around $30, which is a lot less than paying Microsoft $140, and a lot faster!
