NBA Basketball Roundup November 2009

I’m so glad that basketball season has finally started. This is my favorite sport of all, and even the first few games get me excited thinking about the possibilities that lie ahead.

There have been some great stories developing during the first few games of the season. Here’s a quick look at what’s going on if you haven’t been keeping up.

If you’ve been following the league, you’ve probably noticed that the Suns are tearing up the courts. Few people remember that this team was considered a championship contender even just two seasons ago, yet they missed the playoffs last year.

The Suns are no longer with Shaquille O’Neal, and they may very well be better off for it. Steve Nash, Amare Stoudemire, Grant Hill and the rest of the team are playing inspired basketball and have returned to their fast-paced game.

How about the Thunder in Oklahoma City? Everyone knows that one day this team may finally break out. After all, Kevin Durant is one of the best young talents in the league and he makes a good supporting cast.

They were one of the worst teams in the league last season, and they really have gotten better like nobody’s business. This team won its first two games of the season and forced the Lakers into overtime.

There’s one more team for us to check out, and this is one that seems to be struggling. The Cleveland Cavs dominated the regular season last year, but 09-10 seems to have brought the complete opposite to begin with.

The team lost its first two games. Sure, many would say that the loss to the Celtics could happen on any night. However, what about the loss to the Raptors? This caught many by surprise, as this was a game the team would never have lost last season. With each and every game being important when it comes to home court advantage, Cleveland needs to fix itself quickly.
