Starcraft 2 – Zerg’s Nydus Network Guide

In this guide, I will show you how to effectively use the Zerg nydus network. The nydus network isn’t used much on Battlenet right now and the main reason is that most Zerg players don’t really know how to use it. The nydus network is an attack tool, but I recommend using it to harass our opponent and not for a full attack. It only costs 150 minerals and is quick to build. The key to implementing the network is the overlord’s ability to generate fluency.

In short, you’ll get a bunch of speed-boosted zerglings and / or banelings and then send an overlord to drop some creep on the enemy base. Make sure you do it in a place where they can’t see you. As soon as the creep goes down, build the worm and send out all your zerglings and banelings. Go straight to the workers and ignore any attack units they have. You will end up losing all your zerglings and banelings, but take out as many workers as you can. The objective of this attack is to paralyze your opponent’s economy so that you can overwhelm him with hydralisks and cockroaches as he tries to rebuild his workers.

Some things to keep in mind, first, make sure the enemy doesn’t see you as they can attack the worm and kill it before you pass any units. Second, don’t use this strategy if you have your entire army sitting on your base or you have a lot of base defense like cannons or bunkers. Third, I would not recommend using this against Zerg players as it would be so easy and cheap to execute the zerglings directly on the main gate of the base. That’s it, have fun!
