8 facts about the NFL Super Bowl

On Sunday, February 7, 2010, the NFL’s 44th SuperBowl competition takes place. This is a very important sporting event not only for millions of Americans in the US but all over the world. In fact, of all the live television broadcasts that take place in the USA during the year, this is the most watched event. But in addition to being the most viewed during the game, it’s when the most food will be consumed after Thanksgiving.

But along with the facts provided above, there are a few more that you may be interested to know about. Below we take a look at what some of these are.

fact 1 – The name Super Bowl was coined by Lamar Hunt, who used to own the Kansas City Chief after seeing his children in his backyard playing with a Super Ball.

done 2 – As you’ll see when the Super Bowl is advertised on TV, Roman numerals are used to identify the number of the game to be played rather than the year it will take place. So when the first Super Bowl was played, it was known as Super Bowl I, while this weekend’s is identified as NFL Super Bowl XLIV.

done 4 – The team that has won the most this title is the Pittsburgh Steelers, who have been champions six times. However, there are two teams that have won this title five times and they are the Dallas Cowboys and the San Francisco 49ers.
