The thieves of personal development

There is nothing worse than having a dream for yourself and having entities stand in your way to prevent it. The sad truth is that those barriers to your dreams are usually created by yourself. Personal development is hampered by four main thieves operating daily in your life.

– Attitude

– Motivation

– Clothing

– Weather

Everything you do is a choice. With you, elections are always a result. On another level, you could call it taking personal responsibility for yourself. If your life isn’t flowing in the direction you want, it may be time to dissect these four areas in a self-assessment.

Attitude: Achieving great things in your life is impossible if your thoughts and words are contrary to it. When you wake up in the morning, are you happy to have a new day? Has your mind closed to the potential that each day brings? Doing an attitude self-assessment is essential for personal growth. Without maintaining our attitude daily, it is almost impossible to take advantage of the opportunities that bring dreams closer to reality. If you take a good look around you, you’ll see people stuck on autopilot, stuck in stoic repetition. An indifferent attitude is almost worse than a bad attitude. As you age, it becomes even more necessary to feed your mind, flush out your belief systems, and do daily attitude maintenance checks. Not being aware of bad thoughts is a bad excuse for not being able to achieve your dreams. Accountability is reaching out to self-help tools and resources on purpose. If he doesn’t, this thief will surely rob him of the joy of self-discovery.

Motivation: Simply put, motivation is having an “iron will.” If you don’t intend to do something, you won’t do it. She can dance around thoughts of doing something while melting into her couch, but until she actually initiates her will through actions, she’s just fluff. The hard truth is that you are the biggest faker in your own life if you have no motivation to achieve a dream or a desired goal. No one said that finding motivation would be easy either. Every person has or has had difficulties with motivation. It remains a number one challenge in personal development. There will always be the little voice inside you telling you to get motivated later. Until you decide to exercise your will now, motivation will elude you, keeping you the number two thief in personal growth.

Habits: Habits keep you in your comfort zone. Habits provide security. They feel safe, whether they are good habits or bad. They can also keep you from moving into new and unexplored areas of growth. What clothes do you own? Are they part of your problem or part of your solution? Sometimes bad habits become so ingrained in who you are that you don’t even realize how they steal your dreams. Developing new habits that are in tune with your goals is the key to personal development. You need to emit behavior that supports the results you want. The reason they are called clothes is because you make them over and over again. For this thief to continue stealing your life, you must find ways to eliminate unproductive habits.

Time: The word speaks for itself. It is a universal container to contain all the meaning of our life. Finding time, insufficient time, out of time… and for each and every human being it is a lifetime. This is your food for thought: At the end of your life, how will you have defined your journey with respect to time? Did you make time work for you or did you make time? Each moment belongs only to you, to your choices and your dreams. Respect the value of each moment that life gives you for all things significant.
