Virus and worm hackers

Hackers have gotten very good at writing computer viruses and worms and have caused literally billions of dollars in damage.
You have probably heard about the most harmful viruses in the news. And there’s a good chance you’ve been infected with a virus or worm yourself, or know someone who has.
You may not even know you’ve been infected in most cases if you don’t have proper antivirus protection.

Viruses in the past have been more of an expensive nuisance than anything else, infecting millions of computers for no real purpose.
Viruses of the past caused performance problems on computers, possibly even shutting them down, forcing victims to have the virus removed by a professional or reformatted the computer. But the resulting damage has been staggering.

* There are more than 500 new viruses and worms on the Internet every month and

* At least 82% of current antivirus users have recently been infected with a virus.

* Less than 33% of antivirus users are working from an up-to-date antivirus database.

*New, fast-moving viruses and worms can infect millions of computers in a matter of a few hours.

* Security companies can take many hours, even days, to create an antivirus signature to defend against new viruses. Everyone is very susceptible to infection during that time.

* You can get infected through emails, instant messages, downloads, and just browsing the web.

Viruses are not going away by any stretch of the imagination and neither are those who create viruses. There really is no 100% absolute method to prevent viruses from entering, but we can take certain preventive measures to protect ourselves from hackers.
