Songs that have the word middle somewhere in their titles
Five and a half months ago, without thinking about next spring, I put my lawn mower in the shed. Obviously I must have put a lot of extra stuff on it afterwards, because I had to spend almost an entire afternoon removing stuff just to get the mower out.
As I worked, I made up my mind never to store the lawnmower in the middle of the shed again. In the process of mowing the lawn, my mind began to consider songs that contain the word Medium in their titles.
Here is a list of fifteen of those songs.
The Madness of the Middle Ages by Jerry Lee Lewis
It’s not as well known as “Great Balls of Fire,” but no collection of hits from the rockabilly legend would be complete without this classic.
Caught in the middle with you by Stealer’s Wheel
Gerry Rafferty went on to have more success as a solo artist, but this enduring success gives us the first glimpse of his talent.
River of Dreams (In the Middle of the Night) by Billy Joel
This title track served as evidence that Piano Man had returned to rock after his brief foray into the fifties and early sixties stuff he had done in an innocent man.
Piggy in the Middle by the Rutles
Parodying the Fab Four in the mid-’70s, these comedians ended up making a catchy album of beatlesque songs like this one that sounds like “I Am the Walrus.”
The Man in the Middle by Jack Johnson
The surfer-turned-songwriter placed this song on his debut album, Brushfire fairy tales.
Man in the middle of ABBA
This single didn’t get its due as it got stuck in the middle of the charts like “Dancing Queen” and “Waterloo”.
Middle of the road for the suitors
Chrissy Hynde and her rock outfit are still getting airplay for this single.
In the middle of a muse dream
Arcane it was the first album to spawn this song, which represents the band’s grunge influence.
Middle of America by Will Hoge
A memorable video accompanied by the release of this main theme from the roots rocker’s ninth album.
The medium of Jimmy Eat World
This simple title is found in the bleed american 2001 album.
Panic At the Disco Midsummer
The best time of the year is the central theme of this song by Brendon Urie’s rock band. Cute. Odd. album.
In the middle of your heart by Melanie
After singing on roller skates and a new harpsichord, the folk singer scored again with this ballad.
In the Middle of Nowhere by Dusty Springfield
She went much further than this title indicates, having sung on other big hits like “You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me.”
Middle of the night by the Kooks
These English alternative rockers have been making great songs like this for almost two decades.
Foxygen High School Dance
Few artists have taken on this huge event in tween lives, and none have done it more creatively than this independent group.
